In-ground swimming pool
So you’re thinking of an in-ground swimming pool.
You don’t know which type of pool you should select. So where do you start?
Fiberglass or vinyl or gunite in-ground swimming pool
These are 3 types of in-ground swimming pool material. Vinyl, fiberglass, gunite. Some great. Some not so great. Some expensive, some cheap.
The best thing about each option of in-ground pool is that each has its pros and cons. So let’s discuss those.
The cheapest is vinyl in-ground pool.Vinyl is limited in shape and size and depth. It is the cheapest to build but needs more maintenance very 4-5 years to replace the liner.
Next in pricing scale is fiberglass.
It has a wider range of shapes and sizes and customizing. It costs more than vinyl but lasts longest. Contrary to claims otherwise, it requires maintenance, less than vinyl. It has a prefabricated look. So in adding a spa, there are limitations. Each one comes separate. Then they are placed together, like a jigsaw puzzle. Adding water features are the same way, they are connected. So it is semi-customized.
Fully customized gunite in-ground swimming pool
Built to your style with unique features. A gunite swimming pool is a work of art, with the right designer/builder. Available in so many different shapes and sizes, for any yard. Deep pools or inground shallow pools are all possible.
Everything is fully integrated, all fit together in customized details. Gunite swimming pools are the elite of the three options. Combining different water features is easy. A built inground spa looks like it is part of the swimming pool.
There are many options in customizing an inground swimming pool. You should expect to pay more for a gunite pool. The structure will last for decades and over half-a-century.
The interior surface will last decades and decades, known as pebbletec or Pebblesheen.
