Expansion into Other Areas or Zones
We initially specialized in just swimming pools. The market was changing, and buyers wanted much more. “Clients were asking for more than just a swimming pool.”
The market was changing, and buyers wanted much more. Clients wanted everything designed into zones. They wanted the option of building these zones now or later. They wanted to ensure that utility lines were installed, especially, when they were planning for more work in the future. For example, a client wanted a bath house, a year or two after the pool completion.
They did not want to tear up the yard and paver patio for utility lines. So, we installed the lines with the pool work. A boat house was another example, of the same affair. We installed the electrical for that too, during the pool construction phase.
We were building fire pits, kitchens, landscape lighting, etc.” Everything should be integrated. It should be a planned approach, to save cost. This makes sense, because everything needs to flow from one zone into another zone.
In listening to our clients, Janine started offering more than a typical swimming pool builder. “Designing the whole outdoor entertaining area is important,” she says.
Pool Zones has many of the previous business’ principles for high-quality client services and satisfaction. “Clients wanted a professional contractor to manage all of their construction needs. They did not want to hire a separate landscape company or patio extension company. They wanted one contractor to do everything,” says Janine of Pool Zones, previous owner of California Pools, The Woodlands.
